Holtmann has developed a machine to clean skull and scrap out of induction furnaces. The machine will be put on the furnace platform by crane and is operated via remote control. Within a few minutes the full cleaning cycle is done and the furnace can go back into operation. The machine can be used in hot conditions also, so the downtime of the furnace is reduced significantly. Due to its design the refractory material will never be touched or damaged. Each machine can be adapted to the furnace diameter and depth. In most cases the cleaning machine can also be used in different sized furnaces within the foundry. After scraping off the material a pneumatic grab can be used to clean out the scraped material. A vibrating motor keeps the liquid material inside the furnace and saves it for production.
